In the blink of an eye, it’s practically September! Summer is still around for a little while longer though, so you’ve still got a chance to sneak in some more summer fun!
Here are five things you can do this weekend to celebrate the spirit of the season on final time:
Come up to Northside’s Bryan Park this Saturday for live music, food, and even animals! Join Friends of Bryan Park at a community gathering to learn about current and upcoming plans for the park and its programs, and meet local business and government officials that are giving back to the community.
The Richmond Squirrels will be hosting In-Your-Face-Fireworks and Life-size Nutzy Gnome Giveaway on Saturday, and In-Your-Face-Fireworks and Wizarding Night on Sunday. On Sunday, come early for a pregame Quidditch demonstration and bedazzling sorcery!
Three of Virginia’s finest bluegrass bands will be playing at the Routes of Rhythm Mini Bluegrass Fest this Saturday in Pocahontas State Park: Code Blue, Appalachian Express, and County Seat.
Out in Henrico, on Osborne Turnpike, at Hadad’s Lake, you’ll find plenty of food and entertainment this Saturday. Enjoy a live DJ, all you can eat crabs, plus hotdogs, hamburgers, fried chicken, and much more! Swim in the lake, play some basketball, volleyball, and horseshoes, or do some fishing!
This Sunday at James River Cellars Winery, you’ll find live music, wine tasting, and delicious food truck fare at the Harvest Wine and Oyster Festival. Taste wines from five wineries, and with the purchase of and enhanced ticket, see a tour of the winery!
