5 Charlotte Bars to Head to on Thanksgiving Eve

SHARE ARTICLE
Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s are great but one holiday you definitely don’t want to miss out on is Thanksgiving Eve. Enjoy the biggest drinking night of the year and check out some of our favorite Charlotte bars. Happy Drinksgiving!

Thirsty Beaver Saloon

Head to Plaza Midwood this Thanksgiving Eve and take a seat at one of Charlotte’s most beloved dive bars, the Thirsty Beaver Saloon. The Thirsty Beaver has been serving canned PBR’s and mixed drinks to locals since 2008 and even though they are surrounded by an upcoming apartment complex, the Beaver has no intention of moving. You’ll find a variety of patrons at the Thirsty Beaver, so whether you grab a seat at the bar or head to the back for a game of pool, you’ll never feel out of place.

Smokey Joes

Take a drive just outside of the city and you’ll find one of Charlotte’s most hidden dive bars, Smokey Joe’s. With over 120 beers, a fully stocked bar, ping pong table and pool, it’s no wonder that Smokey Joe’s has been a local favorite for so long. They also have something most Charlotte bars don’t have, live music. They host a number of local and regional musicians almost every night, so head to the bar or the outdoor patio, there’s never a bad seat at Smokey Joe’s.

Ed’s Tavern

Ed’s Tavern has been Charlotte’s neighborhood bar since 1935 and even when they tried to change the name, you couldn’t keep the memory of Ed’s away. Ed’s is a local favorite for watching football on Sunday’s, grabbing a bite to eat and of course when you need a stiff drink. Ed’s has over 32 taps serving your favorite local and regional beer, a fully stocked bar and a late night menu for your midnight munchies and since you know they won’t disappoint, head to Ed’s for a drink or two this Drinksgiving.

The Local

If Uptown bars aren’t really your scene, think again and head to The Local this Thanksgiving Eve. The Local has a small, neighborhood bar vibe but with a prime location, the heart of Uptown to be exact. The Local is serving up what locals have been asking for, good eats, great prices and even better drinks. They offer happy hour specials Monday through Friday and are open every night until 2 am, so even if your Drinksgiving goes into Thanksgiving, The Local has you covered.

Solstice Tavern

Located in the heart of NoDa, Solstice Tavern is one of Charlotte’s best kept secrets and one of the best bars to head to this Thanksgiving Eve. Solstice has all of your favorite local and domestic beers on deck, a fully stocked bar ready to be made into shooters and cocktails and a late night menu with everything from wings to flatbreads. After you grab a drink from their bar, check out their outdoor deck where you can get competitive and play a game or two of corn hole.

From all of us at EventZingo, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and remember to drink responsibly during your Drinksgiving festivities!
